This diploma thesis examines hydrogen as an energy carrier, focusing on its production, storage, distribution, and use in the energy sector. The theoretical section summarizes the current state of the hydrogen economy, describes methods of hydrogen production, and provides a detailed analysis of the principles of PEM fuel cells. The practical section presents a handbook for teachers and the design of three laboratory exercises intended for an upcoming study programme at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies at Brno University of Technology, implemented on the GUNT ET 292 teaching system. The first exercise focuses on measuring the volt-ampere characteristics and analyzing partial electrical efficiencies. The second task focuses on the thermodynamic analysis and energy balance of the system in cogeneration mode. The third task uses thermographic diagnostics to study the temperature distribution across a fuel cell stack and to calculate the efficiency of the heat sink. Complete instructions, and sample protocols were developed for each task.

Student seznámil státní zkušební komisi s cíli a řešením závěrečné vysokoškolské práce a zodpověděl otázky a připomínky oponenta a komise. Otázky komise k obhajobě: 1. K otázce oponenta č. 2 - Je ještě i jiná možnost jak ukládat vodík? 2. K čemu by sloužil navrhovaný zdroj nízkotlakého vodíku? 3. Je možné využít vznikající kyslík z reverzibilního PEM článku v režimu elektrolyzér?
