This master's thesis focuses on studying the properties of neutron proportional detectors. After a brief introduction to ionizing radiation, the theoretical part discusses the principles of neutron detection and compares individual detector types. Furthermore, it outlines the methods used for processing their output signals. The practical part focuses on the development of algorithms for data analysis. A key aspect is the separation of neutron and gamma-ray events using pulse shape discrimination. An integral component is the energy calibration of hydrogen detectors utilizing provided MCNP simulation results. The practical part concludes with an evaluation of the detector responses to various types of radiation and subsequently proposes their application in the ionizing radiation laboratory at FEEC.

Student seznámil zkušební komisi s výsledky své diplomové práce. Vedoucí práce prof. Katovský seznámil komisi s posudkem vedoucího práce a posudkem oponenta. Studentem byly následně odpovězeny otázky oponenta práce. Rozpravu zahájil předseda komise prof. Katovský. Doplňující otázky položil doktor Fišera. Student plynule odpověděl na předložené dotazy.
