This bachelor's thesis deals with electrical machines used in traction drives of electric vehicles. The first part of the thesis provides an overview of the basic types of electrical machines, including their design, operating principles, advantages, and disadvantages. This is followed by an overview of the drive units used in selected electric vehicles and a comparison of their technical parameters. The next part focuses on current trends and the expected future development of electric drives. In the final part, a model of an electrical machine is created in the ANSYS Maxwell software environment, and its electromagnetic simulation is performed.
