This thesis deals with the issue of precise 3D sensor localization for the purposes of spatial acoustic measurements and noise source identification. Following a theoretical research of methods and definition of requirements for positioning accuracy, a market survey and a detailed metrological analysis of the PST Iris HD optical tracker are presented. The main contribution of the thesis is the successful design and implementation of the software integration of this tracker into the NI LabVIEW development environment using a Python Node. Finally, the functionality, stability, and accuracy of the entire proposed solution were experimentally verified on a reference linear stage.
