This thesis presents an overview of the basic concept of molten salt reactors and a review of materials considered for their construction, including their reactions with the molten salt environment. The principle of neutron activation analysis is also described. In the experimental part, this method was used to determine the cadmium ratio RCd for selected chloride salts. The samples were irradiated in an irradiation device with an Am-Be isotopic neutron source, and their activity was subsequently measured using an HPGe detector. The obtained cadmium ratio characterizes the proportion of activation by thermal and epithermal neutrons.
