This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a modernization of a low-voltage distribution network in a specific municipality operated by EG.D. The main objective is to increase the network capacity for the connection of renewable energy sources, especially photovoltaic power plants. The theoretical part summarizes the legislative framework for the connection of renewable energy sources, EG.D’s approaches to cable network implementation, and the standardized components used. The practical part first analyzes the current scenario of the existing overhead line network. Subsequently, two modernization scenarios are proposed and evaluated: a fully underground cable network and an optimized scenario for maximum connection of RES, meaning fully underground cable network with additional network densification by means of a new transformer substation. The modeling of these scenarios was carried out in the Grizzly software with a focus on voltage conditions, impedance loops, current loading, and operational losses. The thesis also includes technical drawings prepared in AutoCAD and a technical-economic assessment of both investment and operational costs of both modernized scenarios. The result of the thesis is a proposed network modernization solution corresponding to the development plans of EG.D, enabling further expansion of renewable energy sources in the given locality.
