This thesis focuses on examining optical systems in the demanding environment of nuclear power engineering, where their application has significantly expanded in recent years. The thesis is structured to describe the construction of an optical cable, the materials used, and to confirm those that have already been verified for application in nuclear power plants. The main topic is the analysis of degradation effects, from temperature influences to the characteristic effects of hydrogen and ionizing radiation, as well as an explanation of optical attenuation. The thesis is primarily focused on Czech nuclear power plants and further describes the LOCA design-basis accident and the essential standards without which it is not possible to test optical cables intended for a nuclear power plant. In the practical part, an experiment with cable irradiation is carried out, followed by an analysis of its properties.

Studentka seznámila zkušební komisi s výsledky své diplomové práce na téma Ověření funkčnosti optického kabelu v havarijních podmínkách. Po prezentaci seznámil vedoucí práce Ing. Dejdar, Ph.D komisi se všemi posudky. Studentka odpověděla na všechny otázky z posudků ke spokojenosti členů komise. V následné diskusi položil doplňující dotazy doc. Fulneček, na které studentka rovněž výstižně odpověděla.
