The transformation of transportation is a frequently discussed topic in connection with the European Union. Electric cars are currently an alternative to cars with combustion engines. The conventional way of using them is to recharge them with electricity from the distribution network, after which the energy is used for driving. However, "vehicle to grid" and "vehicle to building" technologies expand this concept. They also use the storage potential of electric car batteries to feed energy back into the grid or to cover their own consumption at the point of connection to the grid for the purpose of profit or financial savings. However, the legislative and technological implementation does not currently have a completely clear framework, and so this technology is only being implemented in pilot projects. This work deals with the obstacles that prevent the wider deployment of this technology in the Czech Republic. At the same time, it deals with the potential and financial aspects of applying the technology to buildings such as parking garages and shopping centers.
