The thesis deals with the design, implementation and functional verification of a modular power supply system for a tethered drone. The system is designed for cable power transmission over a distance of 70 m at 400 V DC and a power of up to 2 kW. The proposed system consists of four functional modules mounted in a common rack enclosure. The TPSI module implements a two-phase interleaved PFC converter based on the UCC28070 circuit, regulating the output voltage to 400 V DC from a 230 V AC mains supply. The TPSP module implements a galvanically isolated DC/DC converter with phase-shift control based on the UCC28950 circuit. The TPSC module manages the power-on sequence, CAN bus communication and telemetry display on an HMI display. The TPSB module provides a backplane for power and signal distribution. PCBs for all modules were designed and manufactured. The TPSI module was commissioned and regulation of the output voltage to 400 V DC was demonstrated under no-load conditions. The communication infrastructure was fully implemented – TPSI and TPSC communicate via CAN bus. The TPSI and TPSP modules were damaged during testing; the causes were identified and documented together with corrective measures for a future revision.
