The proposed concept consists of three buildings interconnected at two levels—via an outdoor corridor and underground spaces. The entire complex is designed as a multifunctional entity, blending private and public spheres. Each of the three buildings fulfills a specific function, addressing the current needs of the municipality. The individual parts of the complex are designed to maximize respect for the surrounding landscape and to seamlessly integrate with the existing built environment. Two courtyards are situated between the buildings: one is dedicated exclusively to short-term guests, while the other provides privacy for permanent residents.
The project site is located in the village of Bělá pod Pradědem, specifically in the Šumná district. This mountain village is situated in close proximity to the highest peaks of Moravia, approximately 8 kilometers from the town of Jeseník.
The objective is to design a complex providing both temporary and permanent housing that respects the existing buildings, the surrounding landscape, and the characteristic features of the local environment. A portion of the recreational housing is designed to serve as a refuge for evacuated residents from areas affected by natural disasters in cases of emergency. Furthermore, the project contributes by creating job opportunities coupled with housing options for employees.
