This bachelor thesis focuses on the adaptive reuse of the Municipal Library building in Most, which currently faces an uncertain future due to a shift in its primary function. The project transforms this this 1970s  structure into a cultural and educational center, aiming to preserve existing social ties and the community long associated with this site.
The core principle of the design is the creation of a flexible environment based on the idea of shared spaces and technologies throughout the day. The proposal responds to the needs of various age groups—ranging from morning programs for seniors and afternoon classes for the elementary art school to evening courses and cultural events for adults. This temporal overlapping ensures the efficient use of the building during the entire day.
A key aspect of the design is also the effort to connect the building’s interior life with the exterior. The project revitalizes the neglected surrounding public space, restoring its social function. A fundamental value of the proposal remains the preservation of the non-commercial character and openness of the site, allowing the building to continue serving as a natural meeting point for all generations.
