The project of the resocialization center is based on the idea of work therapy and the gradual reintegration of individuals back into society. The proposal creates an environment where the process of recovery does not take place in isolation, but through everyday activities, craft-based production, and interaction with the public. Manual work helps to restore working habits, concentration, responsibility, and a natural daily routine, while also supporting a sense of self-worth and usefulness. An important part of the concept is the inclusion of public workshops and repair spaces that connect the center’s clients with the local community. Shared activities such as repairing bicycles, furniture, or everyday objects create natural social interaction between the public and people undergoing resocialization. The project therefore supports a non-institutional and gradual form of social integration based on cooperation, shared knowledge, and mutual trust. Paper making, graphic arts, and bookbinding develop fine motor skills, patience, and the ability to focus on long-term manual work. The process of creating a physical object is slow and tactile, providing a stable and therapeutic environment that encourages concentration and inner calm. The final product also becomes a tangible proof of completed work and personal progress. The concept is closely connected to the history of the Vlnena industrial area, historically associated with production, craftsmanship, and labor. The former boiler house is transformed from a place of industrial production into a space dedicated to human recovery, social relationships, and community building.
