This work deals with the analysis and design of a wireless sensor network for patient monitoring (eHealth) in real-world building environments. The goal is to design a robust, energy-efficient, and scalable communication solution capable of overcoming physical obstacles and ensuring reliable data transmission and storage. The ESP-NOW protocol was chosen as the key technology, which is analyzed and compared with other wireless standards. The work includes a detailed comparative study of the ESP8266 and ESP32 hardware platforms, which, based on technical parameters (especially payload size and radio properties), identifies the necessity of using the ESP32 for key infrastructure elements. The core of the work is the design of a MESH network architecture, the definition of roles for individual nodes, and the specification of a uniform data packet structure. A significant part consists of a custom design of a security mechanism at the application layer, which uses symmetric encryption with dynamic keys and an authentication signature to overcome the limitations of the standard protocol implementation and enable network scalability.
