This bachelor’s thesis examines the use of infrared thermography for the objective assessment and monitoring of Raynaud’s phenomenon. The theoretical section summarizes current knowledge regarding the etiology of this condition, describes the physical principles and technical aspects of thermography, and provides an overview of its applications in medicine. In the practical section, a standardized examination protocol utilizing a cold stress test was designed and implemented. Measurements were performed on healthy control subjects, individuals diagnosed with Raynaud’s syndrome, and individuals with a subjective sensation of cold extremities. For automated data evaluation, a software tool analyzing temperature profiles and diagnostic parameters was implemented in Python. As part of image processing, two methods for detecting regions of interest were developed and compared: thermal segmentation and multimodal image fusion. The thesis also includes a case study demonstrating the effect of acute psychological stress on microcirculation.
