This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the possibilities of using heart rate variability (HRV) for monitoring physiological load during sports activity. The practical part of the thesis includes measurements performed on a bicycle ergometer during an incremental exercise test, during which signals from a reference 12-lead ECG, the Polar H10 single-lead ECG sensor, and the Polar Verity Sense PPG sensor were recorded simultaneously. A custom algorithm was developed for processing the measured data, including signal synchronization, cardiac cycle detection, artifact filtering, segment validation, and calculation of selected HRV parameters in the time, frequency, and nonlinear domains, including the DFA alpha1 parameter. The results demonstrate a solid agreement between the Polar H10 single-lead ECG sensor and the reference ECG, even during more demanding phases of exercise. In contrast, the PPG signal showed decreasing signal quality and reduced stability of cardiac cycle detection with increasing exercise intensity due to motion artifacts, which subsequently limited the usability of HRV analysis. The thesis also confirms the sensitivity of HRV parameters and DFA alpha1 to different levels of physical activity intensity and discusses both the possibilities and limitations of wearable devices for the aforementioned purposes.

Student prezentoval výsledky své práce a komise byla seznámena s posudky. Ing. Šaclová položila otázku: Jaké prahy a proč jste je v práci využíval? Využil jste nějaký dynamický práh mezi subjekty? Ing. Odstrčilík položil otázku: Jak velká zátěž byla u experimentu natavena? Kolik bylo celkově subjektů? Doc. Gumulec položil otázku: Anotoval jste data manuálně? Jaká byla reference pro vyhodnocení přesnosti detekce? Student obhájil bakalářskou práci a odpověděl na otázky členů komise a oponenta.
