This thesis focuses on the design of control electronics for an experimental biological payload intended for a student CubeSat mission. The aim of the experiment is to verify the possibility of rehydrating desiccated cyanobacteria in Earth orbit and to monitor their biological activity under space environment conditions. The proposed system therefore provides autonomous experiment control, activation of biological samples, image acquisition, measurement of selected quantities inside the experimental space, lighting control, temperature regulation, and communication with the main satellite system. The control electronics are designed as a modular system divided into camera, power, and rehydration sections. The design respects the limitations of a small satellite platform, especially the limited available space, restricted power budget, and reliability requirements. The thesis includes the design of the electronic architecture, selection of suitable components, development of the first hardware revision, power budget analysis, assessment of thermal losses, and simulation of selected parts. The thesis also covers the process of verifying the functionality of the modules. The tests confirmed the functionality of most key parts of the design, including communication, image acquisition, and the activation section. At the same time, the verification revealed shortcomings of the first revision and provided recommendations for further development. The result of the thesis is a functional basis for the control electronics of a biological payload and an input for the next hardware revision intended for more detailed integration and environmental testing.
