This master's thesis surveys localization methods in ultra-wideband systems. Channel impulse response acquisition, its role in channel-state estimation, and its capture on integrated platforms are explored. The IEEE 802.15.4z physical layer is reviewed, including Scrambled Timestamp Sequence configurations. The practical part describes the design of two experimental platforms based on the DWM3001C module and the Murata Type 2AB module with an integrated Nordic nRF52 SoC, including PCB features and prototype production. The designed hardware is verified for its functionality by performing distance measurements and CIR acquisition and analysis in the final part of the thesis.
