Master's Thesis
Author of thesis: Bc. Ivo Dovičák

Supervisor: Ing. Karel Juřík
Reviewer: doc. Ing. Petr Drexler, Ph.D.
This master's thesis describes the design of a measurement device, which will characterize an unknown impedance based on the analysis of forward and reflected signal. Four possible implementations for the realization of such a device have been presented and discussed. The direct IQ demodulation approach was chosen as the most suitable. A block diagram of this variant is presented. Based on this block diagram, suitable components were selected for the implementation of the device.. This thesis also includes the firmware design for STM32 microcontroller and software design for a control computer. The frequency range of the designed device is 400 to 3000 MHz. The measurement device is intended for the characterization of RF excited plasma, which was considered during the design process.
