Water is the foundation of our lives. On the Žitný ostrov (Rye Island), this holds true many times over. This territory inherently belongs to water—especially to the groundwater. While changes in the surface water regime become visible within a few years, it is not as simple beneath the surface. This work responds to the contrast between the irreplaceable purity of the Žitný ostrov water system and the indifference of human activity in the vicinity of the Little Danube. Despite the clear reality that we are threatening this source, a strange silence prevails in society. A contamination plume is spreading through the groundwater from the industrial periphery of Bratislava; on the Žitný ostrov, pesticides and fertilizers from agriculture are penetrating into deeper layers, and gravel mining is exposing the groundwater table. The aim of this work is to highlight these issues and seek ways of spatial reflection that carry both criticism and hope. Water is not merely a technical commodity; it is also a cultural, spiritual, and existential value that warrants our concern. We are all responsible for the state of our environment. However, we can only act correctly when we know the truth about our surroundings.

Studentka odprezentovala svou diplomovou práci. Byly přečteny posudky a otázky oponenta. Studentka reagovala na oponenturu a otázky oponenta. Začala diskuze o projektu. Zajímavá je jemnost návrhu v porovnání s důležitostí problematiky. Jelikož se jedná o chráněné území, nezaťahuje váš projekt zbytečně lidi do těchto míst, a tím pádem nezvyšuje zátěž těchto oblastí?
