This work presents the design and construction of an analog voltage-controlled oscillator VCO module for a modular synthesizer. The main requirements for the module include generation of the basic waveform shapes — sine, triangle, sawtooth, and square with adjustable duty cycle. The module must also include a noise generator. The fundamental core of the oscillator circuit is the SSI2130 integrated circuit, chosen mainly for its ability to generate the required waveforms without the need for external waveshaping, its multiple frequency-tuning options for audio signals, and its supply voltage levels compatible with the Eurorack system. This thesis focuses on the analysis of the requirements of the Eurorack modular synthesizer standard, the internal architecture of the SSI2130 integrated circuit, its proper implementation, the surrounding input and output circuitry, and the subsequent verification of the functionality of the individual parts of the module using simulation software, breadboard prototyping, and the final construction of the module.
