This thesis focuses on the analysis of musical performance and sound aesthetics through a comparison of two compositions from different genres, rock and jazz, and their selected interpretative versions. The aim is to identify and quantify differences in key musical-acoustic and psychoacoustic parameters, including tempo, dynamics, tuning, and parameters describing timbre. Particular attention is paid to sharpness, roughness, brightness and the spatial organization of instruments, while the spectral behaviour of the recordings is further evaluated using spectrograms. The thesis follows current methods of musicological analysis and combines a music-theoretical approach, critical listening, and digital signal processing. The analytical part compares not only measurable differences between individual versions of the compositions, but also their aesthetic and interpretative differences. The results show that the final character of a recording is not determined only by the composition itself, but also by the arrangement, playing style, applied effects, mixing, and production processing. The thesis therefore also includes an analysis of selected effects and their probable influence on the sound. Based on the obtained findings, an original simulation of a selected passage from the song Jump was subsequently created. The simulation combines MIDI instruments with live-recorded instruments and aims to verify whether a clearer sound result can be achieved through adjustments in arrangement and mixing.
