The subject of the diploma thesis is the preparation of a study of the Brno Medlánky airport in connection with the study prepared in the course NGA056 – Specialized studio. The purpose of the project is to bring new life to the sports airport area. The study proposes a clearer division of the area, tries to clean up the functions and appearance of existing buildings and expands the attractiveness of the offer for visitors. The main subject of the diploma project is the design of an aviation museum. With its shape, the building fits into the sloping terrain of the airport, but at the same time creates the impression of a taking off aircraft. The object is mass-fitted under the structure of the original wooden hangar, which is preserved here from a historical point of view and serves as a generous covered entrance space in the design. The museum, characteristically called the “Hangar”, combines steel supporting structures with wooden trusses made of glued wood. The supporting structure is also supported by reinforced concrete walls in the basement part. In addition to the exhibition spaces, the study also includes workshops for modelers, operating spaces for the parachuting club, an external workplace of the BUT Aviation Institute (the buildings are designed as wooden buildings) and a social center with a café. The aero club with a restaurant in the original club building and the new guesthouse are already being designed as reconstructions with completions in the study of a specialized studio.

Úvodem komisi seznámila s rozsahem řešeného území a jeho sovislostech s okolím, dále předvedla koncepční řešení návrhu. Stručně uvedla analaýzy týkající se projektu. Celý projekt následně velice přehledně předvedla v úrovni situačních výkresů, půdorysů, řezů a pohledů navrženého hlavního objektu, objektu dílen a dalších dílčích objektů. Celý projekt pojala ve značné urbanistické souvislosti. K řešení systémů požární ochrany uvedla nezbytnost ochranných systémů a dále potřebu množství únikových východů. K řešení povrchových úprav uvedla možnosti užití omítek a užití ochranných nátěrů dřeva. U pohledových betonů užitých v návrhu zmínila ochranu pomocí penetračních nátěrů. K založení staveb uvedla možnosti užití patek, pasů a souvislosti nezámrzné hloubky a vlivu neznalosti základových poměrů. Vyzdvižena byla jednoduchost a provedení vstupního prostoru - jednoduché a velice jasné, dále i užití lapidárních tvarů. Dotazována na způsob odvodnění střech navržených objektů. Studentka s velmi dobrým přehledem zaujímala odborná stanoviska ke všem připomínkám oponenta a velmi dobře reagovala i na všechny otázky členů komise, které byly k obhajované práci položeny.
