The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis is to design a nearly zero-energy detached house on a flat plot in Holešov. The thesis is divided into two parts. First part presents architectural and structural design, building physics assessment and fire safety design. The building consists of two connected volumes. The single-storey volume is covered by a warm flat green roof and the two-storey volume by a gable roof with a shed dormer. Ground floor features an entrance hall, a utility room, a closet, an open-space kitchen, a study, a bathroom, a toilet and a garage. The attic includes two bedrooms, a master bedroom and a bathroom. The building is founded on concrete strips. The walls are designed of ceramics blocks. The floor slab is made of cast-in-place reinforced concrete. Floor, flat roof and facade of the two-storey volume are insulated with grey polystyrene. The facade of the single-storey volume is designed as ventilated rainscreen facade with fibre-cement cladding. Second part of the thesis focuses on a concept design of selected building services and detailed plumbing. The building is connected to a public water supply, sewerage system and electric grid. The main source of heating and cooling is an air-to-water heat pump, which supplies the underfloor heating systém, provides cooling through fan coil units and provides domestic hot water through an integrated storage tank. Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery is designed to maintain a healthy indoor climate. The design also includes a photovoltaic system installed on the gable roof. Rainwater is collected and utilized for irrigation, while any excess water is discharged into the sewer systém through a regulated outlet. The building is designed to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate rating A.
