Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the influence of thermal modification on the physical and mechanical properties of spruce and acacia wood. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the influence of various thermal modifications on the bulk density, weight loss, permanent dimensional changes, limitation of volume changes and surface resistance of wood. The experimental part included the preparation of test specimens, their subsequent thermal modification and recording of mass and volume changes. This was followed by the Taber abrasion test. The thesis also includes a lateral search of modification methods for improving dimensional stability and limiting wood water absorption.

Student představil komisi formou prezentace svoji bakalářskou práci a reagoval na připomínky a dotazy od oponenta vyjádřené v oponentském posudku i na otázky členů komise. Během obhajoby položili členové komise následující otázky: Ing. Aleš Jakubík, Ph.D. – Pro měření hygroskopicity nemáte podklad chtělo to jinou terminologii. Ing. Pavla Matulová, Ph.D. – Do jaké míry jsou nutná další ošetření dřeva po Vaší úpravě? prof. Ing. Jiří Zach, Ph.D. – Co je to tepelná modifikace ve vzduchu a co termická modifikace v atmosféře? Není to stejné? Jak jste stanovil dobu expozice? Proč 2 hodiny? Kde jste stanovoval hygroskopické vlastnosti? Student velmi dobře reagoval na připomínky oponenta a snažil se zdůvodnit nevržená a použitá řešení. Rovněž na připomínky členů komise reagoval velmi dobře.
