This diploma thesis focuses on the reconstruction and extension of the Matyáš Lerch Grammar School campus in Brno. The proposal responds to the shortcomings of the current spatial and operational organization of the school, which no longer reflects the requirements of a contemporary educational institution nor the significance of this prestigious grammar school. The aim of the thesis is to transform the campus into a contemporary educational environment supporting teaching, the social life of the school, and a stronger relationship between the school and the surrounding urban environment. The proposal includes the reconstruction of the existing school building, reorganization of the school’s operation, creation of new shared spaces, redevelopment of the sports facilities, and the design of a new auditorium building with commercially usable functions. The urban design follows the concept of the “Path of Knowledge” and works with the creation of a new focal point of the campus in the form of a central private courtyard intended for students and teachers. The proposal also emphasizes long-term sustainability, reuse of existing structures, energy efficiency, and the quality of the indoor environment. The architectural solution is based on the use of simple forms, light, transparency, and a neutral material expression creating a calm environment for the everyday life of the school.

Student přišel a představil se. Započal prezentaci své diplomové práce. Prezentace byla zcela plynulá bez nedostatků. Byly přečteny posudky vedoucího a oponenta práce. Následovaly dotazy oponenta: 1) Zohledňuje autor návrhu problematiku globálního oteplování, zejména s ohledem na rozsáhlé prosklené plochy fasád a velký veřejný prostor s přesahem zpevněných ploch? Reakce autora: BUdova je v návrhu zateplena, okna jsou navržena se stíněním. 2) Jaké jsou hlavní provozní přínosy přesunutí auly mimo stávající budovu gymnázia? Reakce autora: Jedná se o pointu návrhu. Umožní to uvolnění centrální části areálu. Aula takto samostatně může generovat zisk pro školu, což vychází z požadavků od pana ředitele školy 3) Jakým způsobem autor pracoval se vztahem mezi tvarováním střešní krajiny a nosnou konstrukcí novostavby auly? Nebylo by vhodné, aby konstrukční systém více reflektoval dynamiku výsledné formy a exponovaných nároží objektu? Tvar střechy je záměrným akcentem návrhu. Vyšší objem střechy umožňuje vznik půdního prostoru, který může být dále využíván. Otázky a připomínky komise k projektu: 1) Situace místa stavby - hustota zástavby areál 2) Kompoziční řešení - symetrie stávajícího objektu, posunutí osy na dvoře, přehlednost a orientace v prostoru 3) Pronajímatelnost prostor - přístup při zavřené škole Reakce autora: Autor ukazuje cestu pro uživatele na situačním výkresu. 4) Světelný smog ve vztahu k hvězdárně
