Abstract:

The subject of this master's thesis is the design of new student accommodation within the Pod Palackého vrchem campus in the Brno-Královo Pole district. The project responds to an acute shortage of accommodation and parking capacities within the VUT university campus, as well as an absence of basic civic amenities in the locality. The urban design respects the alignment of the existing buildings and environment, orienting the main axes of the buildings in a north-south direction for optimal daylight conditions, and aligning the volumes along the terrain contours to logically overcome a challenging slope with a 13-metre elevation change.

The architectural concept is based on the integration of a multifunctional plinth and longitudinal residential volumes. The active ground floor provides civic amenities in the form of a café with a bar and a gym, which is adjacent to a double-height multifunctional auditorium. The upper levels of the plinth are dedicated to social spaces, study rooms, and chill-out zones. The accommodation itself, starting from the 2nd above-ground floor, is designed in five modular types of units and apartments, with the monotony of the long southwestern wing's corridors interrupted in the middle of the layout by interior galleries with an overhead skylight. Parking is completely concealed within a two-storey underground garage equipped with a large-capacity bicycle storage room.

Structurally, the building is designed as a reinforced concrete monolithic frame with acoustic ceramic brick infill, visually articulated through the material composition of the facade. The lower floors, partially embedded into the terrain, feature a light grey finish that contrasts with the white volume of the accommodation wings, which are rhythmized by balconies with dark red metal railings referencing the identity of VUT. The complex places a strong emphasis on sustainability through extensive green roofs combined with photovoltaic panels, managed rainwater harvesting, and the utilization of external shading to prevent interior overheating.

Studentka prezentovala projekt "Vysokoškolské koleje pro VUT" Nejdříve představila řešenou problematiku a místo stavby, včetně všech okolností a požadavků na návrh. V rámci návrhu řešila parkování a napojení na okolní komunikace. Následně představila půdorysy a provozní řešení objektu. Popsala rozložení jednotlivých pokojů na kolejích a jejich modulové členění. U řezů a pohledů popsala zasazení do terénu a řešení fasády objektu. Studentka odpověděla na dotazy komise, připomínku oponenta a popsala jakým způsobem řešila detaily a provedení základových konstrukcí ke kterým položil doplňující dotazy Ing. et Ing. Ale Průcha. Předseda komise vyzval studentku k reakci na posudek vedoucího a oponenta u kterých stručně srhnula další okolnostu návrhu. Předseda komise se dále doptával na jednostlivé funkce a pro koho je konkrétně objekt určen. Dále se doptával na zvolené hmotové řešení na které studentka reagovala popisem hmotového řešení a jeho zdůvodněním s ohledem ke světovým stranám. Předseda komise vznesl další dotazy na prosvětlení chodeb, větrání a velkorysost návrhu na který studentka odpověděla pouze stručně. Místopředsedkyně vznesla dotaz na energetické řešení objektu. Studentka reagovala popisem řešení technického zařízení budov a řešení práce s dešťovou vodou. Dále vznesla dopřesňující dotaz k solárním panelům umístěným na střeše objektu a doplnila informace k práci s přebytky z těchto zdrojů. Ing. arch. Adam Guzdek, Ph.D. upozornil na dispoziční řešení objektu, které dle jeho názoru v některých směrem neodpovídá dynamickému vývoji společnosti a požadavkům studentů. Studentka na tuto připomínku reagovala vysvětlením ekonomických nároků a potřeb uživatelů. V návaznosti na tyto reakce komise reagovala dotazy na zadání a konkrétní kapacitní možnosti navrhovaného objektu. Při rozpravě nad výkresovou dokumentací Ing. et Ing. Aleš Průcha vznesl další dotazy na konkrétní technická řešení objektu.
