Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis focuses on the structural design of selected monolithic reinforced concrete elements of a residential building located in Brno. The work deals with the design of the floor slab above the first storey, the adjoining balcony slabs, and selected beams embedded in ceramic masonry. The structural system of the building consists of longitudinal and transverse load bearing walls combined with horizontal monolithic slabs. Part of the vertical structural system is made of cast in place reinforced concrete, while the remaining walls are constructed from ceramic masonry units. Internal forces, reinforcement design and verification of ultimate and serviceability limit states were carried out using the SCIA Engineer software. The numerical results were compared with manual calculations. The design complies with the requirements of standards ČSN EN 1991 1 and ČSN EN 1992 1 1. Based on the structural analysis, drawing documentation was prepared, including formwork drawings and reinforcement detailing.
