In her diploma thesis, Terezie Tomková deals with the phenomenon of collecting small objects that may appear insignificant at first glance, yet carry personal memory, emotions, and the magic of everyday life. Collecting becomes both a ritual and a strategy of preservation, where minor things grow into an intimate archive. The author focuses on the themes of care, sensitivity, and subtle hedonism that bring joy into everyday life. By translating these found and selected objects into ceramics, she gives them a new form and meaning, transforming them into carriers of personal mythologies as well as universal narratives of preservation and memory. The aim of the diploma thesis is to create a set of ceramic objects based on the collection and analysis of small everyday items. These objects will be transformed into ceramics as an archive of memory, sensitivity, and personal rituals. The outcome will be an installation that emphasizes the poetics of preservation and the transformation of ordinary small things into artifacts with symbolic and emotional resonance. The project also explores the relationship between everyday experience and its aestheticization, and reflects on how a person archive can communicate individual experience without a broader cultural context.
