The project develops an exploration of abandoned places and their mnemonic realm into a reflection on the transitional character of displacement. It takes the form of a site-specific installation that investigates displacement through the transformation of the existing environment, embedded within the body of the space. The work was conceived as a response to the artist’s ongoing engagement with diasporic experience and disorientation, particularly the shifting, sensory relationship between body, place, and memory. Rather than defining displacement, the project seeks to materialize and inhabit its experiential and phenomenological dimensions. The installation was realized through a site-specific intervention at TIC Gallery (Galerie mladých, Brno), forming an introspective stage structured around two opposing gestures: revealing and concealing. Within this framework, place and body dissolve and reconfigure into a visual vocabulary shaped by processes of transition and transformation. Through spatialised objects in dialogue with video, the work engages the body of the building as a space where recalling and passage intertwine. The project was developed through an iterative process combining conceptual research, material experimentation, and on-site installation. Techniques such as casting, pouring, and layering were employed to produce translucent surfaces. The work ultimately constructs a layered visual field that reflects an expanded understanding of place, while investigating how architectural space can function as a medium for displacement and transformation.

Studentka pozvala komisi k prohlídce instalace v Galerii TIC. Svou obhajobu zahájila básní od íránského autora. Uvedla, že dílo se zabývá tématy přesunutí, vzpomínkami na dvě různá místa, průsvitnými materiály, prací se světlem, prostorem a mimotělesností… Instalace se skládala z projekcí dvou míst – jejího současného domova v Brně a opuštěného domova v Teheránu, odkud umělkyně pochází. Následovalo přečtení posudku školitelem, v němž J. Příhoda ocenil kontinuitu práce studentky, její sochařský přístup k práci s prostorem a objektovou tvorbu. Její praxi přirovnal k uměleckým metodám sahajícím až do období renesance. Vyzdvihl napětí mezi soukromým a veřejným prostorem, stejně jako její práci s intimitou a vrstvami. Následovalo přečtení posudku oponentem Tomášem Moravcem, který vyzdvihl studentčinu zkušenost s prací s prostorem a kontrast mezi tím, co je a co není přítomno. Následovala diskuse, během níž člen komise H. Alt pozitivně komentoval modelování projekční plochy – sochařský přístup umělkyně k povrchu, na který promítá svá videa. D. Alster přesunula diskusi k tématu okna jako objektu. Porota se rovněž vyjádřila k emocionálnímu náboji, k pocitu „in-betweenness“, kdy se divák ocitá v prostoru mezi obrazy, což lze považovat za komentář k prožitkům přistěhovalců. -- The student invited the committee to view the installation at the TIC Gallery. She began her defense with a poem by an Iranian author. She stated that the work deals with themes of displacement, memories of two different places, translucent materials, working with light, space, and disembodiment… The installation featured projections of two places—her current home in Brno and her abandoned home in Tehran, where the artist is from. This was followed by a reading of the supervisor's review, in which J. Příhoda praised the continuity of the student's work, her sculptural approach to working with space and object-based creation. He compared her practice to artistic methods dating back to the Renaissance period. He commended the tension between private and public space, as well as her work with intimacy and layers. Then followed the reading of the opponent's review by Tomáš Moravec, who highlighted the student’s experience of working with space and the contrast between what is and is not present. A discussion ensued, during which committee member H. Alt commented positively on the modelling of the projection surface—the artist’s sculptural approach to the surface onto which she projects her videos. D. Alster shifted the discussion toward the theme of the window as an object. The jury also commented on the emotional affectivity, the feeling of “in-between,” in which the viewer finds themselves in the space between images, which can thus be considered as a comment on the immigrant experience.
