Abstract:

The master thesis focuses on the evaluation of selected point symbols used for planimetry representation in the current Basic topographic map of the Czech Republic (ZTM), with a primary emphasis on the most detailed scale of 1 : 5 000 (ZTM 5). Within the comparative analysis, selected point symbols are compared with official map series of selected European countries. For the purpose of this comparison, an existing database from previous academic research was utilized, which was modified and extended to include new point symbols within this thesis. Based on the international comparison, the thesis concludes with proposals for new cartographic symbols and modifications of relevant current symbols, applicable primarily to the 1 : 5 000 scale.

Studentka představila komisi formou prezentace svoji diplomovou práci a reagovala na připomínky a dotazy oponenta vyjádřené v oponentském posudku i na otázky členů komise. Během obhajoby položili členové komise následující otázky: Prof. Rybanský upozornil na vliv uživatele na návrh znaků. Zeptal se na limitní parametry lidského oka. Doc. Bartoněk se zeptal na rozměry porovnávaných znaků. Na každou z těchto otázek studentka reagovala dobře.
