Stress tests are commonly used to assess product reliability by exposing a finite sample of devices to accelerated conditions over a limited time period. For highly reliable products, stress tests may result in zero observed failures, providing no direct information about the lifetime distribution. This thesis develops statistical models that incorporate expert knowledge about cumulative numbers of failures over extended time intervals. A conditional multinomial model is chosen to describe failure counts across time intervals, where model parameters are determined from expert-defined probability constraints. Due to ambiguity in parameter selection caused by multiple solutions of the expert constraints, a conditional Dirichlet--multinomial model is proposed, in which the failure probabilities are treated as random variables. A variance-based criterion is used to select a unique parameter vector for the prior Dirichlet distribution from the set of admissible solutions. Both approaches are evaluated through simulation studies. Maximum likelihood estimates of Weibull distribution parameters are obtained from simulated failure counts, and the resulting cumulative distribution functions are analysed using functional boxplots.

Studentka odprezentovala svoji práci. Posudky vedoucí a oponenta práce byly přečteny, oponent nebyl přítomen. Komise položila studentce otázky z oponentova posudku, na které studentka uspokojivě odpověděla. Komise položila doplňující otázku, na kterou studentka zareagovala.
