This thesis presents an architectural study of a selected section of the Brno Zoo’s service yard. The current condition of the site is unsatisfactory; the existing buildings are technically outdated and do not meet current operational requirements. The main objective of the design is to provide a comprehensive solution for the operation, layout, and architecture of four specific structures. These include housing facilities for large carnivores and ungulates, a facility for reptiles, amphibians, birds, and various groups of mammals, including primates and small carnivores, a veterinary clinic building, and a quarantine facility. The design emphasizes animal welfare and smooth, safe operation by the keepers. The presented architectural study seamlessly builds upon a pre-diploma project in the form of an urban planning study. Its ambition was a comprehensive reorganization of the site so that the newly created facilities would meet specific spatial and logistical requirements. The architectural design therefore respects these broader relationships, taking into account internal operational connections, traffic logistics, and the seamless integration of the new facilities with the existing zoo complex.

Studentka představila svoji práci formou prezentace. Komisi ukázala problémový výkres, situaci, půdorysy, řezy, pohledy, vizualizace a architektonický detail. Následně byla přečtena hodnocení vedoucího a posudek oponenta. Následně studentka odpověděla na dotazy oponenta a připomínky k práci. 1. Vysvětlete, prosím, Vaši myšlenku architektonického řešení chovatelských objektů, zejména, jak je možno chápat paralelu s archetypem podlouhlého domu se sedlovou střechou. 2. Vysvětlete zásady bezpečné manipulace s rizikovými zvířaty, které jsou použity ve Vašem návrhu chovatelských objektů. 3. Uveďte Vaši představu o terénních úpravách spojených s osazením chovatelských objektů do svažitého terénu. 4. Vyjádřete se k konstrukčnímu řešení chovatelských objektů a připomínce k dilatování konstrukce navržené, výškově rozdělené haly. Následně se komise ptá na vodní plochu. Zde jde o nádrž a k čemu slouží. Dále se ptá na vhodnost navrženého jednosměrného řešení vzhledem k délce jednosměrné trasy. Komise navrhuje možnost obousměrného řešení. Následně komise přechází k rozpravě nad výkresy. Komise se ptá, jaká zvířata budou v teráriích pro savce. Komise se ptá zda je střecha odvodněna. Dále se ptá, jak je řešena doprava. Komise se ptá, co studentka myslí pojmem "štěrková vrstva s odvětráním".
