This thesis deals with partial task of developing interferometric calibrator for physical standards working with a metre range, focused on mechatronic subsystem of the device. The calibrator is in development at Department of Coherence Optics, of the ISI of the CAS as a proof-of-concept device used to demonstrate the possibility of interferometric measurement with a metre range with uncertainty smaller than one micrometer. The thesis starts with theoretic chapter focused on interferometry for length metrology, its basic principles, basic interferometer configurations and the accuracy limiting factors. Next, the conceptual design of the device is described including the initial state of the machine and electronic modules in use at ISI, that were used for the machine during this work. The thesis then focuses on development of the initial design, creation of the final CAD model and the manufacturing documentation, realization of the prototype and first test for characterisation of the device. The following part describes modifications made in a pursuit of higher accuracy, the developed software modules and repeated tests of the device after modification showing more than a threefold improvement of the interferometric measurement linearity. The last part of the thesis is focused on demonstration of an end standard and the uncertainty budget assesment.

Při obhajobě student nejprve prezentoval svoji diplomovou práci, následně byly přečteny posudky a student odpovídal na dotazy oponenta. Poté byly členy komise položeny následující otázky: Vysvětlete tuhost měřícího systému Jaké programovací jazyky jste volil? Jak byly definované požadavky na výsledné zařízení? Obhajoba byla komisí hodnocena jako výborná.
