This bachelor’s thesis deals with the reporting of meteorological information during flight and its importance for flight safety. The thesis describes the system of aeronautical meteorological services, the basic types of meteorological information used in aviation, and focuses mainly on AIREP and PIREP reports. It explains their purpose, structure, method of transmission, and operational use. The thesis also describes the hazardous meteorological phenomena reported during flight. The practical part is focused on the analysis of real meteorological reports in the vicinity of selected European airports. The occurrence of turbulence and icing was evaluated according to flight level and area of occurrence. The results showed that turbulence was the most frequently reported phenomenon and that the highest number of reports occurred above FL300. The thesis also evaluates the relationship between AIREP/PIREP reports, SIGMET information, and numerical weather prediction models. The final part focuses on possible improvements to the system of reporting meteorological phenomena, especially through automation, data transmission, and wider use of onboard measuring systems.

Student nejprve prezentoval výsledky, kterých dosáhl v rámci své práce. Komise se poté seznámila s hodnocením vedoucího a posudkem oponenta práce. Student následně odpověděl na otázky oponenta a na další otázky přítomných. Student na otázky v případě obhajoby práce reagoval uspokojivě, proto komise hodnotí stupněm A.
