This Master's thesis deals with the design of manufacturing technology for a connection piece made of S355J2 low-carbon steel and the automation of the workstation designated for its production. Among the considered manufacturing methods, hot die forging technology was selected for production. A suitable forging shape was designed for the component, for which an initial billet in the form of a round bar with a diameter of 90 mm and a length of 154 mm was determined. The calculated forging force of 13.06 MN confirmed the technological capability of the LVH 4000 hydraulic screw press. A three-operation forging process was designed, for which modular dies and an upsetting punch were developed. The tool design was verified using forging simulation in Simufact Forming software. Automation is implemented using four KUKA robots for handling and lubrication. To verify the proposed automation and determine the line cycle time, a simulation was conducted in the Siemens Process Simulate environment in cooperation with DEL a.s. By implementing a multi-nozzle lubricating arm, the cycle time was reduced from 28 s to 25 s, resulting in an annual production increase of 96,000 pieces.
