The development of aircraft technologies is more than ever motivated by the prevention of irreversible climate impacts, further reinforced by the prediction of continuous growth of civil air transport volume. The climate goal of achieving carbon neutrality of civil aviation under the „Net Zero 2050“ target places emergent demands on the overall reduction of CO2, achievable through new aircraft technologies, the transition to sustainable aviation fuels, and other strategies. This master’s thesis focuses on the methodology of evaluating both quantitative and qualitative criteria of emerging aircraft technologies. Subsequently, original evaluation frameworks are defined and applied to the practical assessment of selected major development programs of aircraft manufacturers and technologies in the areas of wing and fuselage design, jet engines, and hydrogen-powered aircraft. Through this process main risks of technologies are identified, relevant physical principles are explained throughout the thesis, and the final evaluation identifies the aircraft technologies with the greatest potential contribution.

Student nejprve prezentoval výsledky, kterých dosáhl v rámci své práce. Komise se poté seznámila s hodnocením vedoucího a posudkem oponenta práce. Student následně odpovídal na otázky oponenta a na další otázky přítomných, např. jak v kontextu udržitelnosti myslíme na ekologii a ekonomii, jak jste určil zmíněná rizika, atd. Komise nakonec studenta ohodnotila stupněm za E.
