Bachelor’s thesis deals with simplified airfoil design of a modular wind turbine for urban envi-ronments. The theoretical provides a general overview of wind turbines and introduces related technical issues, including innovative solutions for bladeless wind turbines following with refer-ence on research of modular wind turbines in built-up areas. The practical part focuses on de-termining the turbine’s operating conditions and establishing necessary equations. Subsequently, the calculations and design of the airfoil itself are performed. The Monte Carlo method is utilized to determine the required calculation coefficient and to design the airfoil geometry. The thesis demonstrated that the obtained results are relevant and practically applicable.
