This diploma thesis deals with the design and manufacturing technology of a spray tank integrated into a Komatsu 951 harvester for the chemical treatment of bark beetle-infested wood. The main goal of the thesis is to design a tank that serves as a water reservoir for a spraying system applying insecticide directly during timber harvesting and processing by the harvester head. The thesis includes a theoretical overview of chemical treatment methods for infested wood and an analysis of different 3D scanning methods that can be used for designing parts with complex shapes. The practical part focuses on the placement of the tank on the harvester, processing of data obtained from 3D scanning, design of the tank shape, structural design of individual parts, and the proposal of the manufacturing technology. During the design process, it was necessary to consider the limited installation space, operating loads in forest conditions, the required tank capacity, and requirements for easy assembly and maintenance. The proposed solution is based on practical forestry requirements and follows the development of a spraying system integrated into a harvester, for which the author of the thesis received a European patent. The final part of the thesis contains a technical, technological, and economic evaluation of the proposed solution.
