The diploma thesis is focused on the design of the manufacturing process of a soap box made of corrosion-resistant steel grade 17 240 with an annual production volume of 150,000 pieces. Based on the evaluation of available manufacturing technologies, deep drawing was selected as the most suitable forming technology, while laser cutting was chosen for blank production. The shapes and dimensions of the blanks for both the lower and upper parts were designed, and both components were determined to be drawable in a single drawing operation. Subsequently, the required forming forces were determined, where the total drawing force was calculated to be 214.6 kN for the lower part and 141.5 kN for the upper part. Based on the key selection criteria, the triple-action hydraulic press Dieffenbacher PO 250 was selected, for which deep drawing tools intended for the production of both parts of the soap box were subsequently designed. The manufacturability of the designed components was verified by numerical simulation using the PAM-STAMP software. Furthermore, a technical and economic evaluation of the production process was carried out, including the determination of the manufacturing cost of the lower part and the calculation of the break-even point. Finally, the drawing documentation of the components, assemblies of the deep drawing tools including bills of materials, dies, and punches was prepared.
