This diploma thesis deals with the integration of a powerplant into the Direct Fly STOL Cruiser aircraft. The introductory part provides a brief overview of the current regulatory environment in light aviation, including the upcoming U.S. Mosaic initiative aimed at expanding the operational and certification possibilities of light-sport aircraft. The thesis includes an analysis of available powerplants complemented by an overview of the requirements influencing the selection of a suitable propeller. Furthermore, the impact of the installation of the new powerplant on aircraft weight, centre of gravity, useful load, and flight performance is assessed. Based on the updated operational parameters, the flight envelopes and engine mount design load cases are established. This is followed by the structural design of the engine mount and its stress analysis using the finite element method supplemented by analytical calculations. The final part of the thesis addresses the integration of the engine into the aircraft, including the installation of the fuel, oil, cooling, intake, exhaust, and electrical systems.

Student prezentoval svoji závěrečnou práci která se zabývala zástavbou motoru Rotax 916i pro letoun STOL CRUISER. V následné rozpravě student popisoval interpretaci výsledků numerických simulací a vliv poddajnosti silentbloků. Následná obecná rozprava se týkala tahových a výkonových diagramů, zástavby silentbloku, možností svařování tohoto motorového lože a zvolené konfigurace letounu.
