This diploma thesis focuses on the aerostructural optimization of a small UAV wing designed for the transport of medical supplies. Using UAVs for logistics is currently a rapidly growing approach to supplying remote areas that lack infrastructure or have terrain so difficult that traditional transport methods are inefficient. Aerostructural optimization helps to increase the efficiency of these vehicles, thereby reducing costs. The aim of the thesis is to determine the requirements and define a typical mission for the UAV. Based on these requirements, a conceptual design of the UAV is created. Subsequently, the wing design strategy is presented, where the first stage wing design is based on statistical data. In the second stage, conceptual optimization is used to determine the ideal flight conditions and basic wing geometry, which is followed by the selection of an appropriate airfoil. The third stage builds upon these results, utilizing aerostructural optimization to determine the optimal wing planform and washout. The fourth stage wing design takes into account the manufacturability of the proposed wing. Last but not least, the initial sizing of the propulsion system is performed, along with a propwash analysis using a combination of the Actuator disc theory and a cylindrical vortex wake model. The thesis concludes with a brief description of the powerplant integration and the implementation of flaps and ailerons.

Student prezentoval svoji závěrečnou práci ve které řešil aerodynamickou optimalizaci UAV s pevnou nosnou plochou pro distribuci zdravotní pomoci. V následné rozpravě student popisoval stanovení minimálního poloměru zatáčky a výrobní postup nosné konstrukce křídla. Následná obecná rozprava se týkala zvolené pohonné jednotky, toho jak podmínky zvolené lokality ovlivnily návrh UAV, charakteristik užitečné hmotnosti letounu a materiálů ze kterých byl letoun vyroben.
