This master's thesis evaluates the machinability of 316L austenitic stainless steel. The study compares four types of samples. Two samples were produced using WLAM additive manufacturing technology, and the remaining two were produced conventionally by rolling. Within each pair, one sample was heat-treated by solution annealing and the other was left in its as-received condition. The testing methodology was designed based on a design of experiments (DoE), where six tests were performed on each sample under different cutting conditions. For each sample, three end mills were used, which were changed after every two tests so that each cutting tool operated at only one cutting speed. Machinability was evaluated based on the resulting force load, the resulting surface topography, the achieved surface hardening, and the morphology of the collected chips. Based on the analysis of the obtained data, recommendations for the machining of 316L austenitic stainless steel are provided.

Diplomant seznámil komisi s obsahem a výsledky své diplomové práce a zodpověděl otázky vedoucího, oponenta a dalších členů komise.
