This bachelor's thesis deals with the effect of environmental conditions on the storage of non-wood biomass pellets, specifically hay and miscanthus. The theoretical part summarizes the issue of biofuels, the pellet production process, and details the mechanisms of their degradation – mechanical, moisture, chemical, and biological. The practical part is dedicated to a five-month experiment in which fuel samples were exposed to temperatures of 20 °C and 40 °C and maintained at moisture levels of 10%, 20%, and 30%. Mass loss, moisture changes, ash content, and gross calorific value were monitored at regular intervals. The results demonstrated that miscanthus is significantly more stable against microbial degradation and physical breakdown than hay, primarily due to its stronger cellular structure and higher lignin content. While the gross calorific value decreases in a similar range for both materials due to moisture, hay experiences much faster overall mass loss, mold growth, and a spontaneous increase in moisture due to the production of metabolic water.

Student odprezentoval obsah své bakalářské práce. Otázky oponenta byly zodpovězeny. V průběhu obhajoby byly položeny následující doplňující otázky: Z jakých provozních důvodů nelze spalovat plesnivé pelety v domácích kotlích? Jaký význam má omezení přístupu kyslíku pro zastavení degradace? Co je to buněčné dýchání? Jaká byla opakovatelnost měření? Otázky byly zodpovězeny.
