This thesis examines the possibilities for optimizing electricity consumption through the spot market. The main objective of the thesis is to assess the technical feasibility of optimization and to evaluate suitable technological solutions. The theoretical section describes the principles of how the spot market functions, the impacts of the development of renewable energy sources on the stability of the power grid, and the possibilities for leveraging emerging electricity price volatility. Furthermore, technologies applicable to optimizing electricity consumption are characterized. The practical section focuses on creating a simulation tool that models the operation of a family house and subsequently optimizes consumption using individual simulation models. The simulation is based on publicly available data on the electricity spot market and meteorological data. The simulation results show that all proposed variants achieve economically attractive outcomes and are capable of achieving a return on investment over their lifetime. The most advantageous variant proved to be the use of an electric vehicle supplemented by a control system. At the same time, the possibility of generating economic benefits through consumption optimization on the spot market was confirmed.
