The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is a systematic development of the abstract theory of closure spaces and a demonstration of its unifying character across mathematical disciplines. The text first introduces closure operators axiomatically, including their alternative definitions via Moore's construction and a Galois connection. Within this general framework, classical topological concepts such as interior, boundary, continuity, and algebraicity are subsequently examined. This apparatus is then applied to specific mathematical and information structures. The thesis demonstrates that the topology of metric spaces, the generation of subalgebras, the formation of linear and convex hulls, the construction of the Kleene closure of formal languages, and deduction systems in logic share a common fundamental structure and represent particular cases of a general closure operator. The text thus provides a unifying perspective on these disciplines and establishes a foundation for their further investigation within the context of lattice and category theory.
