This thesis is focused on the structural analysis of two planting head frames using the finite element method. The introductory part outlines the basic methods of artificial forest regeneration, the technological procedures related to this process, and selected machines used for mechanized afforestation, including a brief mention of the use of excavators in forestry. The following part deals with the functional analysis of planting heads and subsequently presents selected types of planting heads currently available on the market. Furthermore, the designs of both compared planting head frames are described and the selected comparative load cases are introduced. As part of these load cases, a dynamic simulation was also performed in order to determine the reaction forces acting on the frame. Subsequently, a structural analysis of both compared frames was carried out using the finite element method, and based on the obtained results, design modifications were proposed to increase the frame stiffness.
