The thesis focuses on the design of a robotic grinding workplace for grinding grey cast iron castings. Research was carried out in the field of robotic grinding, in an analysis of the casting issues, in an analysis of the issues of the individual elements that make up the workplace, a calculation of cutting conditions was performed and possible ways of distributing the cell were assessed. Based on the assessment of the necessary elements of the assembly, their specific variants were selected in the design part or a design solution was implemented and it was composed within the SOLIDWORKS environment. The simulation was performed in the RobotStudio software from ABB. For the casting used in the simulation with dimensions of 1109 x 604 x 343 mm and a weight of 331 kg, the grinding time by the robot was found to be 530 s. The economic evaluation compares the costs of purchasing and operating a robotic workplace with a workplace where castings are ground with hand tools. The return on investment is determined mainly by sufficient workplace utilization and at the same time by a sufficient difference between the costs of machining a unit between robotic and manual grinding.
