This master's thesis focuses on the real-time implementation and comparison of the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) on laboratory models, using the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The primary goal is to determine which control method is more suitable for the selected systems, while simultaneously detailing the engineering workflow required for designing both controller types. The methods are evaluated from multiple perspectives, including control performance, robustness to parameter deviations, as well as the overall implementation and tuning effort. Consequently, this work can serve as a practical guide for selecting the optimal control method and navigating its deployment process. Special attention is given to Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC), specifically assessing its feasibility for real-time hardware deployment. This includes a description of the necessary optimization steps and subsequent verification on hardware commonly available in the Mechatronics Laboratory.

Při obhajobě student nejprve prezentoval svoji diplomovou práci, následně byly přečteny posudky a student odpovídal na dotazy oponenta. Poté byly členy komise položeny následující otázky: Dá se pružina modelovat lineárním systémem? Dá se omezit natočení pružiny? Jak velký predikční horizont jste volil? Uvažoval jste měření proudu? Obhajoba byla komisí hodnocena jako výborná.
