This bachelor's thesis deals with the classification of passing trains based on the dynamic mechanical response in the railway track. Automatic identification of railway vehicles from piezoelectric MFC sensor measurements is an essential first step for effective load monitoring and future predictive maintenance of railway infrastructure. The theoretical part summarizes the issue of track loading, defect formation, database systems for data storage, and classification methods. In the practical part, a structured reference database of 383 types of rolling stock used in the Czech Republic was created from public and semi-public sources. The core result is the development of a hybrid rule-based classification algorithm that analyzes time series from an MFC sensor located at an insulated rail joint. The algorithm utilizes cluster analysis and domain (heuristic) rules to suppress noise and reconstruct the logical train composition. The system was successfully tested on over 1300 real train passes on the Prague -- Olomouc line, with validation confirming its high reliability and accuracy, particularly for multiple units and standard passenger trains.
