The master's thesis addresses the revitalization of the historic center and the chateau in Velké Němčice. The objective of the thesis is an architectural and urban design of the public space surrounding the chateau, alongside the development of an architectural study focused on the heritage conservation of the chateau building itself.
The urban design aims to interconnect historical values with the contemporary needs of the residents. The new concept builds upon original historical forms and transforms the area into cohesive, mutually complementary zones consisting of a square, a park, and gardens. These spaces offer versatile uses for a wide range of social activities and cultural events.
The chateau itself forms the landmark of the designated area, becoming the symbolic heart of the town and the hub of social life. The municipal office, library, and post office are newly integrated into the building, complemented by spaces designated for a café and a wineny. The heritage conservation focuses on restoring the appearance from the early 20th century, returning it to the period before the insensitive removal of most historical elements.
